Sending documents

Upload or reuse
Upload a PDF, or start from a template you saved.
Find fields for me
The places to sign and fill are suggested from the PDF’s own text and lines, by rules, not by AI: signatures, initials, names, dates and text lines. You keep, move or drop each one. A scanned page has no text to read, so you place those fields yourself.
Field kinds
Signature, initials, name, date, email and one line of text; checkboxes, radio buttons and drop-down lists of 2 to 20 choices; numbers within a range; dates; and text in a set format (email, US phone, US ZIP) or of a set length. The signing page checks each answer.
Signers and copies
Up to 25 people per document, signers and copies together. Signers sign in the order you set: one after another, or several at the same step, asked at once and signing in any order. The next step starts when all of them have.
Copies
Name people to be sent the signed document and its certificate when everyone has signed. They sign nothing. A copy can also get a link to read the document while it is being signed.
Codes for signers
Ask a signer for an access code you give them yourself, a six-digit code we email to them, or both.
Reminders and expiry
Reminders are on by default, and you can turn them off for a document. A request lapses when the time you set runs out, and you are told when one does.
Withdrawing
Withdraw a document that is out for signature, with a reason everyone it was sent to is told.
Client profiles
Keep the people you send to, with notes.
Notifications
Choose whether you are emailed when a document is signed, declined, completed or lapses.
Saved signatures
Keep your signature and initials, and use them when you sign a document sent to your own address while you are signed in.Essentials, Pro and Business

For the people you send to

Free to sign
Signers never need an account and never pay.
Every page first
Every page is shown before signing opens, and the signer is taken to their own places.
Consent as its own step
Agreeing to sign electronically is its own box, under the disclosure it accepts, separate from the intent to sign. A signer who does not agree can decline instead.
Draw or type
A signature can be drawn or typed.
Declining
A signer can decline, with an optional reason the sender is emailed.
Names in many scripts
Names in Greek, Cyrillic, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean or Vietnamese script print correctly on the signed document.
On a phone
The signing page works on a phone as well as a computer.

The evidence

Certificate of completion
Each step of the signing and when it happened, issued with the signed document.
The seal
Each completed document is sealed: a signature over the fingerprints of the document and the certificate, and over each signer’s entry. A document that cannot be sealed is not completed.
Check a signed PDF
Drop a copy on our checking page: your browser works out its fingerprint and sends only that.
A checker you run yourself
The checker we publish runs on your own computer, against a sealed record you downloaded.

Your account

With an email address and password, or with Google.
Two-step sign-in
An authenticator app with recovery codes, and a passkey as a second step.
Activity
Every account has an Activity page that lists its sign-ins and security events, what happened to its documents, and its payments.
Activity export (CSV)
Save those lists as CSV files.Business
Display settings
Text size, reduced motion, high contrast and underlined links, kept with your account.
Deleting your account
Ask, confirm from the emailed link, and the account is deleted fourteen days later; you can cancel until then. Confirming locks the account at once, withdraws documents still out for signature and revokes API keys, and cancelling does not undo those. Cancel a renewing plan first.
Buying a plan
Choose a plan, then sign up with Google, or confirm your email address in the same browser within an hour, and you go straight on to checkout. Paid plans need a US billing address for now.

Developers and AI agents

Test mode
Test keys on every plan. A test document goes only to your own confirmed addresses, is marked as a test and does not count.
API access
A REST API with an OpenAPI document and a reference. Your software prepares documents, follows their progress and downloads the finished records. No key can send.Essentials, Pro and Business
An MCP server
AI assistants connect through OAuth once you approve them. Six tools, and none of them sends: a draft waits until a signed-in person sends it or rejects it.Essentials, Pro and Business
Clients and their limits
Every live key belongs to a client you register: Essentials 1 at a time, Pro 2, Business 10, and a connected AI assistant counts as one. You can limit each to certain templates, recipient email domains, a number of drafts a day and an end date, and suspend or revoke it.Essentials, Pro and Business
Safe retries
Send an Idempotency-Key when creating a document from a template, and a retry within 24 hours makes no second draft.Live keys: Essentials, Pro and Business; test keys: every plan
Webhooks
A web address you choose is told when a document is sent, signed, completed, declined or withdrawn, usually within about a minute.Business
